Sierra Harrop is the founding principal of Lightrange Media

She has 25 years of experience in media. She’s spent time as a TV and radio news anchor and reporter, a national television host, and a public relations and social media executive.

She is well known to the aviation community for serving as producer and host of several lifestyle shows, including AOPA Live This Week, FlyBy Powered by AOPA, and AOPA Pilot Video.

Harrop is a private pilot with over 25 makes and models flown, and holds endorsements for tailwheel, high performance, and complex airplanes. She also holds a remote pilot certificate with a rating for small unmanned aircraft systems.

She later served for years as the Public Relations and Outreach Manager of a national membership association. She is an accomplished aerial director, having coordinated and shot dozens of air to air photo and video missions. She has worked on projects that have been honored with Emmy, Murrow, and Peabody Awards. Her work with the warbird community earned her a Gold Excel Award in 2022 for AOPA’s coverage of the Arsenal of Democracy Flyover of Washington, D.C.

Through all that experience, the desire to make human connections through extraordinary content has driven her storytelling and built relationships throughout the aviation world. From grassroots airports to major manufacturers, Sierra Harrop has been there and relied on her Oklahoma upbringing to have both never met a stranger and always treated people the way they want to be treated.
